What is a Sales Demo?
A sales demonstration, or a sales demo, refers to the presentation a sales team delivers to a prospective customer to highlight the values, key features and capabilities of the product or service. The purpose of a sales demo is to attract the prospects and close a deal with them to convert them to a customer.
For every company, sales representatives are responsible for presenting the sales demo to prospective customers. The sales demo is presented to potential prospects who have passed the qualification stage and are interested to learn more about your service. There are different channels through which you can deliver your sales demo: In-Person, Video Conferencing, Phone Call, Email.
What is the difference between a Sales Demo and a Product Demo?
A sales demo is prepared for the prospects, who are still not converted to a customer, with the goal of impressing the prospect and closing a deal with them. The sales demo is focused on highlighting the key values and capabilities of the product.
On the other hand, a product demo is for your current customers, maybe a retained customer or a new customer. The product demos is focused on giving a complete detailed walkthrough of your product or a new feature. The purpose of product demos is to increase the adaptation rate of the product - for both new customers and retained customers.
