What is Top of the Funnel?
Each potential customer goes through a Sales funnel before they reach at the bottom of the said funnel and become customers. The stages of the Sales funnel are divided into Top of the funnel, Middle of the funnel and Bottom of the funnel and information is fed to the potential customers depending on the stage at which they are.
Based on this, Top of the funnel is the first stage in the buyer's journey. This is the stage where the company looks for people whose interests and needs align with what they are offering. It isn't about selling the company or its products at this stage but understanding whether the buyer needs or wants what you are selling. This is done by spreading awareness about the company or products and looking for potential buyers who connect to it. The potential customers who qualify in this stage move to the Middle of the funnel followed by the Bottom of the funnel.
